Como novedad de esta versión es la disponibilidad para la plataforma linux de forma nativa, basada en las librerías qt.

Los requerimientos para GNU/Linux que anuncian en la página oficial son:

* CPU: Pentium 3, 500Mhz

* System Memory (RAM): 512MB
* Hard Disk: 2GB free space
* Network Speed: 768 Kbits/sec
* Graphics Card: 3D-capable with 32MB of VRAM
* Screen: 1280x1024, 32 bit color

Para instalarlo es tan sencillo como descargarse el archivo .bin, darle permisos de ejecución chmod +x GoogleEarthLinux.bin y como root ejecutar el archivo ./GoogleEarthLinux.bin y nos aparecerá un asistente para la instalación.
